I have been fully Enhanced DBS checked and have undertaken NANSAs Safeguarding Basic Awareness Course 2017.
Living with Cerebral Palsy – Originally an hour in length, this talk is a serious talk but has many funny parts throughout it, this can be adapted in length and content to suit the audience’s requirements.
Depression – Originally an hour about my experiences of going through depression, it makes suggestions of how to cope with the illness as well as who might be able to help when one is experiencing this illness. Again this talk can be adapted in length.
I believe that the best way of learning is by taking a hands on, active learning approach to training. During training courses delegates will get to ‘experience’ being disabled as well as learning the theory. I provide bespoke training packages about disability depending on the organisation needs and requirements. Some of the organisations which I already have training programmes for are airlines, restaurants, schools and care services amongst other organisations.
I am part of the UEA’s Community Engagement programme where I get to participate in a range of activities including participating in committee meetings, interview potential students, teaching and marking student’s presentations, as well as other activities.
