My Story

Joan Latta BSc

My name is Joan Latta BSc. I am 27 years old. I have Cerebral Palsy as a result of birth complications and being starved of oxygen for 28 minutes; I wasn't expected to live beyond my first 24 hours. Doctors then believed I would be very limited in movement and abilities.

I set up a business, Cerebral Palsy Alive and Kicking, with the help of the Prince’s Trust. Through this business I now travel around speaking and training people about the challenges faced by a person with a disability.

I am an international speaker, who has spoken in the UK, Spain, Hong Kong, Singapore and Macau.

I participate with the Community Engagement programme at the University of East Anglia as well as being an Associate Lecturer there too.

On top of this I am also a support worker with the Norfolk and Norwich SCOPE Association.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like more information or to hire me.
